Zoned HVAC Systems
Zoned systems are built to service different parts of the house depending on need. Since heat rises, it’s common that upstairs bedrooms may need less heat than, say, a furnished basement. By having dampers and zone valves within the ducts, zoned systems save energy costs by only heating or cooling the parts of the home that are in use. They also direct the flow of air to make sure heat is not being expended unnecessarily, or cold air is not being lost during the summer air-conditioning months.
